Basic Ramen Noodles Recipe (with Egg & Veggies)

🕒 Ready in: 15–20 minutes

🍽 Serves: 1–2

Ingredients:

  • 1 pack instant ramen noodles (any flavor, but discard the packet if making your own broth)

  • 2 cups water or broth (chicken, veggie, or beef)

  • 1 egg (soft boiled or poached)

  • 1 tsp sesame oil (optional but tasty)

  • 1 garlic clove, minced

  • 1/2 inch ginger, grated (optional)

  • 1 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1/2 tbsp miso paste or chili paste (optional, for depth or heat)

  • Veggies of choice:

    • Green onions (sliced)

    • Baby spinach or bok choy

    • Shredded carrots

    • Mushrooms

    • Corn

  • Protein (optional): tofu cubes, shredded chicken, leftover meat

Instructions:
  1. Prepare the egg

    • Soft-boiled: Boil water, gently add egg, cook 6–7 minutes, then put it in ice water.

    • Or crack an egg into the broth at the end to poach it directly in the ramen!

  2. Make the broth

    • In a pot, heat sesame oil on medium heat.

    • Add garlic and ginger, sauté for 30 seconds.

    • Add broth (or water) and soy sauce. Stir in miso or chili paste if using.

    • Bring to a simmer.

  3. Cook the noodles

    • Add ramen noodles and cook according to package (usually 3–4 min).

    • Add veggies in the last minute or two so they stay crisp-tender.

  4. Assemble

    • Pour everything into a bowl.

    • Slice egg in half and place on top.

    • Add green onions, extra soy sauce, sesame seeds, sriracha—whatever you like!

🔁 Variations:

  • Add peanut butter for a Thai-style twist.

  • Use coconut milk for a creamy broth.

  • Add kimchi for a Korean vibe.

Conclusion:

Ramen noodles are a quick, versatile, and satisfying meal that can be customized with whatever ingredients you have on hand. Whether you're going for a simple comfort bowl or dressing it up with eggs, veggies, and flavorful broth, ramen offers a delicious way to get creative in the kitchen. With just a few ingredients and minutes of your time, you can whip up a warm, hearty dish that hits the spot every time.
